Day 9 - Someone you didn't want to let go but just drifted?
Sadly, this happens much more often than I'd like to think about. Sometimes life brings you in different directions and many times relationships fall by the way side. For today's post, I'd like to dedicate it to my friend Cody. We were partners in crime for a while. Always getting into some sort of perdicament but having tons of fun nonetheless. She had a little girl (7 months when we left) whom I absolutely adored! My husband's job moved us eight hours away and since, things have just kind of stopped. We still talk from time to time but our lives have since moved on and things have gotten more difficult on both ends. She now has 3 baby girls, the eldest is now 3.5 and she has almost 2 year old twin girls. I now have my 9 month old son and it just seems like life has moved so fast. She got married and has since separated and we've moved a few times during the process.
There are many times that I wish we were closer. Close enough to watch each other's children grow. Continue the good times and celebratory gatherings. I miss it so much. I never intended to 'loose' her along the way. Life gets so busy and it's sucks that sometimes really close friends get lost in the transition.
I pray that one day we can at least be in the same state again.
Who's drifted away from you?
I hate it when that happens. I always think of my freshman roommate on these things. We're facebook friends now, but can just never really connect. I won't think about her for a long time, but then will and really miss her, but she's really unresponsive on email / facebook, so I guess that's how it'll be.
ReplyDeleteI have lost a lot of friends over the years. Thankfully though, Facebook has let me reconnect with those who I was happy to talk to again, and has shown me the life that others have gone down which I am glad to not be a part of.
