Green Acre Design - Do Over

During our Fluffy Bottoms Cloth Diaper Event we were giving away your choice of:

one PUL Pocket with a microfiber insert
one AIO
or
one PUL cover

PLUS free shipping to the USA or Canada from Green Acre Designs.

The winning number was chosen and the winner was Cynthia K from Her Quiet Hands In Mine. However, she declined the prize due to feeling the need to pass on the love to another cloth diapering momma. Here's what Cynthia had to say:
"Thanks so much for this... However, I would like to decline this prize. I have 40 diapers, so my stash is flourishing... I wouldn't feel right taking this prize away from someone who actually needs it. It was awesome to win though!!!"
This contest is CLOSED!
Congrats to the winner, Kristin!

If you're wondering why I don't just generate another winner, it's because you can't tell who has 50 diapers at home and who has 6. You don't know who's been cloth diapering for a long time and who just started the journey. Obviously, Cynthia was the original winner and has declined the prize therefor I would like to honor her and give it away to someone truly in need. If you think I'm 'cheating' please see our rules under each giveaway that you agree to when submitting your entry. It specifically states that if a prize is not claimed, an alternate winner will be chosen. It doesn't say HOW a new winner will be chosen, just that it does. If you don't like how I'm running my giveaways or my blog, maybe you shouldn't be reading or entering. Just sayin.

  1. Well, I didnt get to enter the first giveaway for this diaper, because i JUST found you!!
But I could certainly use another diaper, we have just recently started CD, and we only have 10 diapers, so far we are doing pretty good with it, washing every other day, but sometimes i dont get a chance so we have to use disposables for a day or so. I'm in love with cloth, and want so bad to try every single different kind as possible. This would be a great opportunity for me, and I would be very thankful if you chose me!
ps. love the disclosure at the bottom, we mamas who are just starting really appreciate people like you. love that you are making it possible to build our stashes!

  2. I have decided that we will be using cloth diapers for our new little one due this fall. We don't own a thing yet, so I am working researching cd choices and companies. It has been so overwhelming with all the choices! I am hoping to start getting the things we need soon to start our journey of cd.

Thank you to the original winner for offering it to another.

  3. I have a 13 month old and a 2 week old-nuf said! We can't get enough diapers in our house!! We are doing laundry on a daily basis and could really use another diaper in our stash.

  4. I'd love to win. We're pregnant with number 3 and money is tight to begin with. With one in diapers and one on the way (due in december) We're trying to build up our stash finding we don't have the resources to do so. We do CD wash everyday as we only have 10 diapers... This would truly be a blessing!

  6. I don't need it either, but I have a friend who is just getting into cloth diapering, and I would give it to her. I have got a few other giveaway diapers that I have surprised her with, and she is so excited to get started! If this doesn't count as an entry, I will understand, because I know it's hard to trust people...but if I do happen to win, I would pass this on to her!

  7. I would like to start cloth diapering, but my husband isn't quite on board with the idea and isn't willing to let me spend money right now on "experimenting" with cloth diapering since he is out of a job until school starts in the Fall (he teaches). I have 2 cloth diapers right now. I'd love to win a few more so that I can give cloth diapering a legitimate try and then hopefully convince my husband to let me buy some more and complete a stash! My son is 19 months old, but we're planning on having many more kids, so I know that whatever I'm able obtain now will be used in the future on many babies to come. That is so nice of Cynthia to think of others who made need it more than herself! What a great example. I know whoever wins this will be deserving. Thanks

  9. First, what a great Mama Cynthia K is to share the love! I am new to CDing, I guess we're in our third week now! (Except for night, I don't really have anything in my stash for nightime.) I could use this dipe. My very limited stash has all been pre-loved and it would be great to have a new one! (I'd probably give it to my little man for his first birthday! If I could wait that long!) I can't buy new dipes, I really shouldn't buy used ones either, but the more I learned about the chemicals in sposies the more concerned I got. So I made the leap! Now I need a few pockets to try night time!

  10. I plan on starting to cloth diaper when Baby Number 2 arrives in October and I have no idea what type of diapers I will like! Putting together a newborn/infant stash has been intimidating and costly, especially in light of the fact that I plan on quitting my job to stay home with this one.

Thanks for honoring the winner by doing the giveaway this way!

  11. I would LOVE the chance to win this diaper and START my stash! I only have 1 (!!!!!!) cloth diaper and have been extensively researching all the brands and types over the past few months, while still using disposables (*frown*). Pampers Cruisers switched to the "drymax" version, and my son has reactions to them, as have a huge chunk of pampers users---it's not good! Our stock of the old version is running out in the next couple weeks, and I can't find them anymore in store. Not sure how I'm going to gain a whole/partial stash in the next few weeks yet (*praying*)!!! Seeing first-hand the effects of the chemicals in disposables is my #1 reason for switching to cloth. This would be incredibly helpful to my family as we start to become more eco-friendly, and healthier for my son's bum! :) Thanks for the second chance!!!

I currently have 13 diapers in my stash that I use with my 11 month old daughter ... and I've lost a diaper!! (How does that happen?!) This would be a great replacement.

I'm new to CD and I am just beginning my collection. I have enough that I can go ALMOST every two days between washes, but ... I work outside of the home, and washing every two days is not always convenient at all! Can't wait to have a full stash and be able to take a breather!! :)

  13. I would love to win another diaper because I am sending half my stash with my friend who is moving to Africa at the end of the month. If we split my stash now, neither of us will have quite enough. Thanks for the second chance!

  14. I have been using cloth now for 2 months. It took me 3 months to convince my husband to let me try since the initial output of money is so high. I have two different styles of diapers and would love to see if there is a better fitting option out there for my little guy but can't afford to buy more just to try. Would love to give this one a shot:)

  15. We have baby #3 arriving next month! We want to cloth diaper, but the up front cost is a bit much for our one income house ;) I've been very fortunate to win some diapers over the last couple of months, and have about 1 days worth, but I'd love to get enough to make it 2 days since I won't want to do laundry every day when I have a newborn!
Thanks for the second chance at the contest, and thanks to Cynthia for being so generous =)

  16. going on our 3rd month and our stash is growing slowly, a bit too slow. Laundry is everyday and we ran out of disposables for weekends so weekend laundry was introduced ;) Giveaways are a way other moms grow so I've been giving it a try.

  17. My husband and I started a new business in January. We had baby number 2 in March. I didn't use cloth diapers with my daughter, but wished I had. Since January, we haven't received a pay check. Things are getting a little tight around here. I switched to cloth diapers two months ago, for financial reasons, but also just because the amount of trash leaving this house was getting ridiculous.
I am in love with cloth. I have 12 diapers, just enough to get me through the day and night. Our washing machine gets a healthy workout each night, lol. I would love to add this diaper to our "stash". It would be given a good home and would be truly loved.
When we do get our first big break, hopefully soon, I would like to get more diapers.

  18. My baby is due in October and I am planning to Cd when "peanut" arrives. I have been looking into different kinds of cloth diapers and have bought a few. I would live to try out the Pul Pocket with insert. I am hoping to have diapers enough to cd properly by the time baby arrives. This one would help, thank you

  19. I'm also new to cloth diapering. I kind of jumped right into buying diapers without really doing my own research. I chose to buy a stash of 12 diapers from one popular brand that was recommended to me, and it ended up kicking me in the behind. These diapers DO NOT WORK for us. I've had issues with fit, velcro and insert stink. The stink issues aren't caused by my washing methods because I have other inserts from different companies that are made with the same fabric that are perfectly fine.

I'm between a rock and a hard place because I can't use these diapers, but I don't have enough diapers from other companies to use cloth full time without doing laundry every day. I also don't have the $$ to go out and buy a whole new stash. I'm still searching for the perfect diaper, and would love to try these!

  22. I began cloth diapering about 3 months ago. I chose to start cloth diapering when I found out I was expecting my second. My son was 13 months when we started. I have to say that I absolutely LOVE cloth diapers now. We have a very small stash. We only had seven until recently and now we have 13. We can't really afford to buy more at this point so I have been entering giveaways in hopes of winning some diapers. I need at least 12 more for when the baby comes in Oct. Hope I win!

  23. I'm another newbie to cloth entering for this! Our little guy is due in September and we can use all the help we can get! A free diaper would really help ease the burden of the initial start-up costs of cloth diapering. I know in the long run it will be worth it financially, but right now it's overwhelming (as if being new to the process isn't overwhelming enough! LOL!).

  25. I am a nursing school student and as much as I would like to live green, it is tough on the pocket. All of my diapers have either been used ones from Craigslist or purchased on clearance. I'd love add this GAD diaper to my stash because I have heard SO many great things about it!

  26. This is why I love the CD community so much! Thank you to the original winner and to you for rerunning the contest.

I'd love to get another GAD for our small stash. We started CD because we decided I should stay home with our son and thus had to cut back on a LOT. So CD were one way to save $$ for us (all the other amazing things were just bonus). I've got about 24-36 hours worth of diapers. It's getting old doing laundry every single day but we simply cannot afford to invest in any more at this point. I have one GAD and it's our only pocket (DH wanted AIOs and we didn't realize we'd need pockets for increased absorbency).

    Thank you again :)

  28. I think it's great you're doing the re-draw for someone who NEEDS another diaper... not just in the hunt for another giveaway. I would LOVE another diaper, since I've only been CD'ing with my 3 mo old son for 2 mos and I've bought second-hand diapers... it would be great to have a new one or two. But from reading these entries, there are mommas out there that need it more! :)

  29. Wow, what an awesome way to do a redraw...and even more awesome that Cynthia refused the prize because she didn't need it.

I am a stay at home mom of a 2 yr and 5 month old, so we go through a lot of diapers!! I just started cloth diapering about 2 wks ago. My husband is military and we are being stationed in Sicily for the next 3 yrs starting September. I have always wanted to go green, but made the permanent decision when I realized that disposables might get pretty pricey on a small island off the coast of Italy. We exclusively use gdiapers right now, and only have a few. I do like them but I would love to try another kind, but don't want to spend money "testing them out". I would love to win to try this diaper and see if this is the one for us.

Thanks for all the great giveaways!

  30. That was nice of her. :)
We could use another cloth diaper in our stash because we only have seven, which means laundry every night (in the dark, deep, damp basement!). Using cloth is something I'm committing to after using disposables for seven months and cloth for only one so far. That's how much I love them and what a positive difference it has made in our life.
    Thanks!

  31. Thanks for the second chance Cynthia gave to all of us other momma's!!!

Well, We are just starting our CD journey! My little guy will turn 7 months tomorrow. We have been using cloth for about 2 weeks now. (except the sposie he wears to bed so I can wash
=(...hoping to be able to eliminate altogehter soon!)We have 7 diapers...and I wash nightly!

We decided to make the switch for several reasons.

#1 Being that our little guy has super sensitive skin! He has eczema and was breaking out frequently in little rashes on his legs and bottom. It seemed like nothing I did would help, no aquaphor, eczema cream, nothing...I hated thinking I had to use hydrocortizone on it all the time since it's not the greatest thing for them! I finally found a cream that worked to control it, and then pampers announced the switch!!! Which brings me to reason
#2 Pampers changed their "formula"!!! I was using swaddlers...With our skin issues finally under control I didnt want to interupt the progress we had made and try a new diaper (especially one that caused so many issues with so many babies) I was not even willing to risk it and "try " out these diapers!

#3...Disposables are so expensive!!! Yes buying a stash is expensive too, but it is already saving us money!!! Not to mention gonna save on our trash bill! We are throwing hardly anything away so our cans are not filled! (I hope we arent throwing any away soon!!!)It's awesome!

#4 It is also so much better for us!!! No more eczema breakouts! Seriously!!! I honestly think he was just allergic to the nasty chemicals in the sposies! (I use 7th gen sposies @ night til I have enough to switch totally)We have not had a bout in the 2 weeks since we changed! I love how natural cloth is, and not to mention HOW CUTE my little guy looks in them!!! haha.

I would love to win this diaper! I have been looking at GAD's and debating if I want to buy a bunch or just one to try! So it's awesome that we are getting the chance to re-enter! I need to build my stash so I don't have to buy any more nasty sposies (for night) If I have enough to use during the day and one for him to wear to bed while Im washing I would be SOOOO happy. I would love to have enough to just wash every other day but I will get there! Hopefully this giveaway can get me one diaper closer!!!

Thanks so much for the opportunity!!! I love that blogs like yours give us momma's just starting out so much info on the diapers you review and a chance to build our stash!

  33. I've started CD my 8 month old but I still have my 2 year old in disposables at nights and naps. I was JUST looked at GAD AIO for my 2 year old. I would LOVE to get him in CD but trying to find something I can use on a toddler and an infant.

  34. I'd love to win this because I have a baby due in August and my stash has been through 2 of my own children and the friend who generously gave them to me, and I don't think they'll last this baby through pottytraining and I can't afford to buy a new stash. I'm slowly trying to build a small "going out" stash of pockets/AIO's, so I'd especially love one of those:) Thanks for the opportunity to enter!!!

  35. I am fairly new to cloth diapering. I've been diapering my 7 month old daughter in cloth for about three months after discovering that that was the secret to keeping her severe diaper rash under control. I'm loving it! My friend Tammy (post #17) and I have been sharing our experiences with each other as we've learned. It has been such an encouragement to be going on this cloth diapering journey with someone! I have 18 prefolds, a few covers, and 5 pre-loved pockets, which is almost enough to get through 2 days and nights between washes. 1 more pocket would get us through the second night. I would love to win this giveaway, but I would love even more for my friend Tammy to be chosen. With a newborn in diapers and a two year old just starting potty learning, I know the extra diaper really would make a huge difference in her ability to make it through a whole day between washes. Please choose Tammy for the giveaway. She is exactly the kind of momma Cynthia K would want the diaper to go to. Thanks!

  36. Our family is going through a really tough time. My husband's current job doesn't pay enough to support our family of 5. I have 2 boys in diapers, and not enough cloth ones to do full time diapering. SO, I have to get disposable diapers to "fill in" the gaps between loads...which living in a small 800-sq-ft 2nd story apartment...it's hard to get the laundry done. Life is real. Life is HARD. I have entered into as many of these as I can get time to. I'm just being raw and honest. For the first time in a long time.

  37. i just found this blog and giveaway today!
Our first baby is due end of september and we are very determined to cloth diaper this little babe. Our stash at this point is well... zero. I have been doing my research and have some items on a registry for our shower but am not confident that people will get them for us becuase a few think we are crazy.
I have been told that variety is the best way to start and this would be a huge help in the start of our journey. I'm fluff obsessed without even owning any as of yet.
My baby, husband, and I would be very greatful! We want to join all the great the cloth diaper families out there.

  38. It's a great idea to honor Cynthia—and so generous of her to decline her prize because she's built up such a large stash. We currently have ten CDs for our five-month-old twins. Needless to say, we're doing a lot of laundry, but it's worth it environmentally and financially. I can't even tell you how many disposables we went through during the first weeks until the girls were big enough to fit into the cloth one-size diapers I'd gotten. I'd like to try out some different diapers so that I know which ones work best for us as I slowly build a larger stash.

BTW, congrats on your correct guess about what's new with SoftBums!

  39. I'm re-entering because the opportunity to win cloth diapers is very important to me financially. My husband and I originally planned to use compostable, biodegradable (and expensive!) disposables but it didn't take long to realize that the cost adds up! Although we are on our first child, we want to have more, and so cloth diapers have become increasingly attractive in terms of overall cost, especially, but also in terms of environmental impact and comfort for our little one (oh, and they're much cuter).

Unfortunately, I was fired from my job for going on sick leave related to my pregnancy and money has been getting tighter and tighter ever since. We have a teeny weeny cloth diaper collection that is in high rotation right now (about 15 now, I think, in total) for a 7 week old baby, and if I want some of these diapers (I've picked all one-size so far) to last for future children, I'm gonna need to find some more! I

spend a lot of time every week entering diaper contests in the hopes of getting something, much like a lot of these other commenters. There are a lot of good stories and good reasons to pick someone, I wish you the best of luck and kudos to Cynthia for her honesty and generosity!

  40. I am new to cloth diapering and my stash has only 5 diapers. I have 2 One Size pocket, 1 small all-in-one, and 2 small pocket.

I would really love to win another one because I am in the middle of building my stash to try different types of CD to find the best for me and my baby because i absolutely don't want to use disposables!

Thank you so much to Cynthia for letting us the chance to win!
